| Project Type: Database Publishing Client: Heartland Hospital Project Description: Create a database publishing system the streamline the publication of a Physician's and Hospital Services Directory Background: Heartland Hospital prints an annual physician and hospital services directory. They also have a web site that contains separate directory information. Project Goals: (1) Create a database where the information can be entered and updated once but can be deployed in a print directory, a web directory and potentially on a CD-ROM based information disk. (2) Allow for the updating of the information over the internet. TooBaRoo Solution: TooBaRoo created a runtime application for the client to enter data locally on their own machines. This data was taken and PageMaker tags and styles were applied to the data through a series of complex calculations. The exported directory information was formatted so that it could flow into the printed directory's PageMaker document shell. The updated database information can also be used to drive the organizations web database directory or exported to another application for web publishing. |
